November 14th Meeting

This months speaker is Dr. Dewey Caron.

The subject of his talk is “What Are Your Bees Saying?”.

Next time you open your hive, you’ll have a better understanding of what’s happening in your hive.

 

Remember, we are NOT having a meeting the 3rd Wednesday of November because of Thanksgiving.  Also, no meeting in December.  Our next meeting will be in January on Wednesday the 16th.

September 19th Meeting

This months speaker is Micheal Burgett from OSU.  He will be speaking on “Asia Apis – The Other Honey Bees”.

October 17 Meeting

This months speaker will be Ramesh Sagili from OSU.

He will be discussing research project that are happening at the OSU Honey Bee Lab.

 

Also…. We will be having our annual honey tasting.  Please bring a small sample to put out for others to taste.

July 18 2018 Meeting

This months meeting features speaker Ellen Topitzhofer from Oregon State University.

The title of her talk is “Might Fight: The Attack of Varroa Mites and How Beekeepers Can Fight Back”.

The general synopsis of my talk: I’ll discuss how Varroa mites are a problem, then diving into their biology, and then for a big big push on what Varroa damage looks like and how to sample your colonies for them. I will conclude with the general basics on how to treat too.
